Bij deze techniek wordt een 3D figuur (zie de 3 kubussen met telkens een ander perspectief) naar een 2D figuur (4e grafiek) geprojecteerd. De punten in de kubussen geven een verkeerd beeld qua afstand tussen de punten zelf, deze lijken dat ze op 1 lijn liggen (3D figuur op een 2D scherm).
Zoals ik in mijn eerste zin hierboven al vermeldde, worden de kubussen als scatterplots geprojecteerd in de 4e grafiek.

Deze techniek geeft meteen al de bivariate density plots weer. Het nadeel is dat de 3D voorstelling een vertekend beeld kan geven.
