Download complete TEMPO Online tables

Description

Downloads one or more complete tables from the Romanian National Institute of Statistics TEMPO Online database as CSV files.

Usage

tempo_bulk(codes, language = "ro", directory)

Arguments

codes

A character vector (or list) of TEMPO matrix codes, such as "ACC101B". Use tempo_toc() to discover available codes.

language

A single string: "ro" for Romanian (the default) or "en" for English.

directory

A single path for the downloaded CSV files. The directory is created when needed.

Details

Large dimensions are requested in sequential chunks to avoid exceeding the TEMPO service's query limit. The function writes only to directory and needs an internet connection.

Value

The paths of newly downloaded files, invisibly. Existing requested files are skipped when their modification date is at least as recent as the matrix's published update date.

List tables available from TEMPO Online

Description

Retrieves the table of contents for the Romanian National Institute of Statistics TEMPO Online database.

Usage

tempo_toc(full_description = FALSE, language = "ro")

Arguments

full_description

A single logical value. If TRUE, retrieve the domain, sub-domain, survey name, and last-update date for every table. This makes one additional request per table and can take several minutes.

language

A single string: "ro" for Romanian (the default) or "en" for English.

Details

The function needs an internet connection. It reports an informative error when the TEMPO Online service cannot be reached or returns an unexpected response.

Value

A data frame with name and code columns. With full_description = TRUE, it additionally contains Statistical_domain, Statistical_sub_domain, Survey_name, and Last_update.
