Je was de opdracht al juist begonnen door de juiste calculator te kiezen maar je hebt de verkeerde gegevens ingegeven. Je hebt de verkeerde nulhypothese en type 1 fout ingevuld. De nulhypothese moest 13 zijn en de type 1 fout 0,35.

De steekproef variantie is 14 en de kritieke waarde is 13,775.
We zien dan ook dat de steekproef variantie (14) significant groter is dan de nulhypothese (13). De volgende stap die we zouden moeten doen is een links-eenzijdige test berekenen omdat 14 groter is dan 13. Maar we gaan kijken naar de tweezijdige test op basis van de populatie variantie en op basis van de steekproef variantie:

Omdat 13 in de intervals valt zouden we zeggen dat de variantie niet significant verschillend is van 13 maar omdat de steekproef variantie (14) groter is dan 13 zeggen we dat de variantie van de vrouwen significant groter is dan 13. We verwerpen hier de nulhypothese.
