We “click” on the hyperlink of the previous computation and interpret the output
The Percentiles software uses 8 different definitions. Unless you have other preferences, we use the 5th
definition which is called “Empirical Distribution Function – Interpolation”. We find the percentile
value of 61.9 in the row that corresponds to 5%. This means that 5% of the students submitted the
survey in 61.9 seconds or less. Therefore, if we assume that 5% of the fastest submitters did not take
the survey seriously, it can be concluded that one needs to spend (at least) 62 seconds.

What is the probability that students need less than two minutes to submit the survey?

The value of 120 seconds

the 5th definition. Therefore we can conclude that the probability that students spend no more that two
