De student maakte hier een correcte berekening en vormde hierbij ook een juiste conclusie. De student kijkt echter gewoon naar de grafiek van de notched boxplots. De student had ook kunnen kijken naar de mediaan en het gemiddelde om dan op te merken dat deze verschillend zijn, waardoor we inderdaad kunnen vaststellen dat er geen sprake is van seizoensgebondenheid.

De student had hiervoor moeten gebruik maken van de “Univariate Explorative Data Analysis”. Hierop kon de student zien of dit een goede voorspelling was door te kijken naar de Run Sequence Plot. Hier zien we dat de mediaan 296 is. Dan zien we op dat niveau naar de toekomstige prijzen. Op het histogram zien we een scheve verdeling. Om dit model te mogen gebruiken moet dit een normaalverdeling zijn. Dit is hier niet het geval waardoor we kunnen zeggen dat we dit model niet mogen gebruiken. Dit wordt dan ook bevestigd in de Q-Q Plot. Dan kijken we naar de Lag-Plot. Hier zien we dat we duidelijk nog veel kunnen vertellen over de toekomst aan de hand van het verleden. Dit wijst op de autocorrelatie. Als laatste kijken we naar de autocorrelatie. Hier zien we dat de afhankelijkheid van de verschillende verschuivingen vrij hoog blijft. Via het betrouwbaarheidsinterval zien we dat alles erbuiten ligt, wat wijst op een significant verschil. Hier is dus ook de assumptie niet voldaan. Het huidige model dat we beschouwen is dus geen goed model. Dit komt doordat de verdeling niet normaal is en er een sterke vorm van autocorrelatie aanwezig is. Dus deze is een slechte voorspeller.
