De student gebruikt voor zijn notched boxplots 4 tijdreeksen, waarvan twee geïndexeerde. Dit mag niet, ofwel gebruik je allemaal indexen ofwel geen. Je kan ze niet met elkaar vergelijken.

De notched box plots laten toe uw reeksen allemaal tegelijk te bekijken. De middenste 50% van uw reeksen wordt verklaard door uw boxen, de overige 50% zijn onder en boven de box telkens 25% weergegeven door de lijnen. Eventuele outliers worden genoteerd door bolletjes, deze zijn hier dus niet aanwezig. De zwarte streep in het midden van elke box duid de mediaan aan.
