Het Cumulative periodogram geeft hier eerst een verticale curve , wat wijst op een lange termijn trend, en daarna een getrapte curve, dit wijst op seizoenaliteit. Wanneer de differentiatie correct gebeurt, zal deze curve grotendeels binnen het betrouwbaarheidsinterval liggen, dit interval wordt voorgesteld door de stippellijntjes.

Spectrum

Om tot de conclusies te komen die eerder werden gemaakt bij het cumulative periodogram, kan je ook kijken naar de tabel, hierin wordt de tijdsreeks ontbonden in verschillende mogelijke golfbewegingen. Wanneer we kijken naar hoge waarden, zien we in het spectrum ook een hoge waarde, wat wijst op een LT trend, maar ook bij andere waarden zien we soms een verhoogde waarde, wat wijst op seizoenaliteit.

De steile stijging wijst op een lange termijn trend, niet zomaar op 'een patroon'. Deze lange termijn trend proberen we te elimineren door niet-seizonaal te differentieren. De trapfunctie wijst inderdaad op seizonaliteit, die we proberen weg te werken door seizonaal te differentieren.
